As you may have noticed, the present post and the last one have been on legendary characters of the Indian Cinema.  For this one it’s for the best villain scene every created and performed by the one and only Amjad Khan in Sholay.  Some of the lines in the scene below have stayed famous till now and other villain roles and movies have been inspired by this.

Sholay is the highest grossing film of all time in India. It has earned Rs. 2,36,45,00,000, equivalent to US$ 60 million, after adjusting for inflation.[1] When first released, the film was declared a commercial disaster. Word of mouth convinced movie-goers to give the film a chance and soon it became a box-office phenomenon. It ran for 286 weeks straight (more than five years) in one Mumbai theatre, the Minerva. Sholay racked up a still record 60 golden jubilees across India and doubled its original gross over reruns during the late 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s.[1] Sholay was the first film in the history of Indian cinema to celebrate silver jubilee (25 weeks) at over a hundred theatres across India.[1]

In 1999, BBC India declared it the “Film of the Millennium”; Indiatimes movies ranks the movie amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films.[2] In that same year, the judges of the 50th annual Filmfare awards awarded it with a special award called Filmfare Best Film of 50 Years.

Madhubala, the Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood

This is the actress that stays an iconic and most respected figure in the Indian Film Industry. She is considered as the Marilyn Monroe of India.  Her movies is considered to have shaped the Indian Cinema especially the mega and legendary movie Mughal e Azam whereby you can watch the song Pyar Kiya Tho Darna Kya which due to the heavy physical strain to film this movie have deteriorated her health as she had a hole in the heart.  Few people knew of her health problems. She died at the age of 36.  This performance below if a legendary piece of art.
